Established by Hyperion Bank in the Fall of 2009 the Hyperion Bank Community Chest Fund is a non-profit Pennsylvania Corporation which endeavors to support projects that improve our local community for the benefit of all its residents and provide educational materials and program support for neighborhood schools and educational programs offered by local groups within the Bank's service area (defined as Fishtown, Old Kensington and Northern Liberties).
Funding for the Community Chest was initiated in June 2009 with the First Annual HyperBowl event. Teams from local businesses, business associations, neighborhood associations, schools and PTOs competed in a bowling competition fund raiser.
The Community Chest Fund accepts tax deductible donations throughout the year in an interest bearing deposit account for which there are no administrative costs or fees.
*No funding will be awarded to any individual, family or other "Fund" such as memorial funds, memorial scholarships, or for medical/health care or medical research.
Recognized community and neighborhood organizations, including local schools may request funding from the Hyperion Bank Community Chest Fund by formal request. Requests must be submitted in writing on official letterhead from the requesting entity and must be signed by two authorized representative of the group requesting the funding. Back-up support must accompany the request, i.e. cost estimate from the supplier/vendor if materials need to be purchased, a full description of the program for which the donation is requested and specifics of how the funds would be used.
