The Hyperion Bank Community Chest Fund is proud to announce a $1,000 Grant has been awarded to The Clay Studio's Claymobile Claymation Project for their award winning Claymobile Education Outreach Program.

Christopher Taylor, President of The Clay Studio, said the funds would be used for the summer camp for low-income youth. "We are thrilled to receive financial support from the Hyperion Bank Community Chest Fund especially during such challenging economic times. With the support of the Community Chest Fund we will be able to continue to provide accessible, hands-on arts education at the neighborhood level", said Taylor.

According to Suzanne Salsbury-Mooney, President & CEO of the Community Chest Fund, "As local schools continue to cut arts funding, and community and human service organizations struggle to meet demand for services, it is more crucial than ever that low cost and effective arts programming receive funding so that they can remain available. We are proud to support their efforts as part of our commitment to the communities that we serve".

The Clay Studio is a nonprofit, education arts organization, dedicated to the promotion and development of ceramic arts. Created in 1994 The Claymobile works to integrate the arts in the activities of schools and communities with the goal of improving access to arts education by traveling to those unable to participate in such programs due to geographic and financial barriers. Each year, The Claymobile serves nearly 2,000 students, primarily K-12 inner city youth from low-moderate income neighborhoods.

Established by Hyperion Bank in 2009, the Hyperion Bank Community Chest Fund is a non-profit Pennsylvania 501 (c) (3) Corporation which endeavors to support projects that improve our local community for the benefit of its residents and provide educational materials and program support for neighborhood schools and educational programs offered by local groups within the Bank's service area (defined as Fishtown, Old Kensington and Northern Liberties). The Community Chest Fund accepts tax deductible donations throughout the year.
