Charles B. (Charlie) Crawford, Jr., is Chairman & CEO of Hyperion Bank, a relationship-driven, smart-growth community bank known for local decision-making and deep financial expertise. A champion of community banking for more than 30 years, Charlie previously founded three successful Atlanta-based banks. He was recently elected by his peers to serve a four-year term as a director of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh, effective Jan. 1, 2026.

Charlie is Chair-elect of the Chief Executives Organization (CEO), having served previously as International Finance Chair and Senior Vice President. He completed his term as Board Chair of the Pennsylvania Association of Community Bankers (PACB) in Sept. 2025, after earlier serving on its Diversity Task Force, and was named PACB’s 2022 Banker of the Year. He also serves on the board of the Community Bankers Association of Georgia.

Charlie joined Hyperion Bank in 2017, leading a significant recapitalization in 2018 and expansion to Atlanta in 2019. In 2020, the bank launched Hyperion Mortgage, now licensed in Georgia, Alabama, Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Tennessee. Hyperion earned Inc. 5000 recognition in both 2024 and 2025 and was named to the Philadelphia Business Journal’s “Fast 50” for 2025 – its sixth consecutive year on the list.

Previously, Charlie founded and led Private Bank of Buckhead, which was named to the Inc. 5000 in 2016 and successfully merged into a regional bank in 2017. A three-time Georgia Titan 100 honoree, he was named to the Titan 100 Hall of Fame in 2024.

Charlie holds undergraduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and The Wharton School and an MBA from Georgia State University. He is a graduate of the LSU School of Banking and Leadership Atlanta and taught "Scaling a New Venture" at Georgia State for five academic years, earning the 2023 Harvey Brightman Part-Time Instructor Teaching Award. He also serves on the Advisory Board of Temple University’s Fischer-Shain Center for Financial Services.

Charlie serves as a director of McKenney’s and Profitmaster Displays (Chairman) and on the boards of Hyperion Bank and Hyperion Mortgage. He has received awards for entrepreneurship and nonprofit service, including board leadership roles with the J. Mack Robinson College of Business, The Carter Presidential Center, the Georgia Tennis Foundation, the Atlanta History Center, the Buckhead Coalition (Treasurer), and the Atlanta Track Club (Chair).
