Wendy is highly experienced in banking and customer service. After entering the Philadelphia banking field as a part-time teller in early 2011, she quickly rose to positions of increasing responsibility, serving as an Assistant Branch Manager and later overseeing Cash Management and Merchant Services. In these capacities Wendy gained expertise in multiple areas of bank operations and audits, while enjoying opportunities to meet and serve customers.
Wendy came to Hyperion Bank in June 2019 after working for a year in Costa Rica, where she applied her business operations and customer service experience to opening a new hotel, serving as a management consultant responsible for all aspects of construction, human resources, financial operations, policies and systems.
Returning to her native Philadelphia, Wendy chose to work at Hyperion Bank because, she says, “The team is open and diverse. Hyperion focuses on appreciation and respect. I love being part of a community bank, helping local people, and being involved in local events. Community banks offer more loans, provide free account options, and when a customer calls for assistance, we will answer personally and know who is on the other end of the phone.”
Wendy grew up in Philadelphia’s Manayunk and Roxborough neighborhood, attended Community College of Philadelphia, and has continued her education and professional development through the Pennsylvania Bankers Association School of Banking. When she’s not working, Wendy likes to “relax” with adventurous activities such as paragliding and ziplining, and plans to skydive soon.
